Clean on mummy trousers

So any of you who know Joel know that he doesn't like mess so I admit there have been times when he gets something on his hands I have just told him to wipe it on my trousers.  I never thought much about it. Its never that big of a deal, but recently we were at a wedding and Joel came running to me with  mess on his hands and tried to wipe it on my dress. Nice!

Most of you would think that is the bad bit of the story, but you didn't ask what was on his hands!  I looked and he was covered in cake frosting. The cake hadn't been cut yet! Sorry Martha. For all of you not married don't invite children and leave the cake with in their reach! or just don't invite us=(

things that make me smile

Isn't it amazing how people can change the way you feel about yourself. I was out shopping the other day and someone complimented my tan. I couldn't believe it! Its only June and I have a beautiful tan from the English weather.  I was smiling all day.

Then I read my cousin's blog and he complimented my cooking saying "I always witness her preparing an amazing variety of different simple, healthy and delicious meals"!!!!! I am not a glory cook. I have always felt like I cook meals cause we need to eat and that's fine, but someone noticed and said it was "delicious"!!!  I called Phil I was so excited.

Its funny how the little things can make such a big difference.

what are you...

We are making lots of new friends in Leicester. Things are going really well. Unfortunately people are starting to learn my ways.

They know I like to go to bed early as my constant yawning after 9 gives away. So we got to chatting to a couple the other day and they said something along the lines of since your not a night person are you a morning person. I had to admit no I'm not a morning person or a night person I just tent to like my days. I was really hoping to hid this for at least a few more months...

my DARE toddler

I was tidying Joel's room while Phil was getting the little man out of the bath when I heard Joel say "don't do drugs". Phil was surprised and said "what". Joel confidently replied "Uncle Justin say that".

So thank you Uncle Justin for teaching Joel early on not to use drugs. I hope he always remembers your wise words!

* I also wish that he knew Calgon tablets (water softeners) were just as dangerous as drugs and not to eat them=) but hey what's life without a few adventures!! (Please don't worry - all is fine!  He just gave me a little scare!)

My little Romeo

Joel has made his first move. I wouldn't say he has his first girl friend but he is well on his way. I can see years of trouble ahead of me. Joel was admiring my flowers in the garden yesterday. I told him not to touch the flowers so he asked "Joely smell it?". I thought this was a sweet idea so  I said yes he could smell the flowers and the little money plucked the flower up and brought it to his nose.

Realizing he had won he gave a smug smile, but then decided he wanted to give it to Eve, the six year old girl next door. He ran to the fence and shouted "Evie, Evie" until she came to their spot and then he presented her with the flower gave her a little smile and ran off to play. I will keep you posted on any further developments...
