I've gone away for the weekend. Only to Phil's parents house, but its a very welcome break. They are wonderful. I couldn't be luckier. They are great with Joel and they kindly offered to get up with him this morning while I stayed in bed. I was so excited about some extra sleep!
Everyone likes sleep right?!?! Well let me tell you the birds don't! They were chirping away from 5.30!! What is there to sing about at 5.30 in the morning? REALLY?
Now, in house group I confessed that I use my blog to moan so it got me thinking about how easy it is for me to get upset or annoyed so this morning I tried to happily think about all that I have to sing about. My life is very good. I have so much more than I deserve. I am very blessed! Eventually I fell back asleep thinking happy thoughts.
Unfortunately, I woke up still wishing they didn't sing.

Vacuuming
Joel and I were getting on with some much needed house work. I have to say "Joel and I" because he insisted on "helping". I managed to do the stairs and just as I reached our room he took over. While some of you might think this is cute, let me tell you it was for about 2 seconds. I really needed to get on and Joel just didn't understand he couldn't do it. He had the sucky bit up in the air and he couldn't get it to turn corners. But he kept looking at me proudly saying "Joely (that's what he calls himself!) helping, Joely hoover".
Sadly it got me thinking. I am sorry to everyone I have ever tried to "help". I know I thought I was being kind or helpful, but really I was just getting in the way. Thinking way too much of myself. Thank you for putting up with me.

Rain...
I was just checking the BBC for the news and weather and right there on the front page I see rain for the next three days, but they don't call it just rain. Only in England do they say "Drizzle", "Light Rain" and "Cloudy". And they all have slightly different pictures. They should just say what they mean- miserable!! I can't wait for summer!

Knock Knock
I hate to admit it but I feel a deep since of disappointment every time I hear that knock. I don't want to feel this way. I'm not sure it's right to feel this way, but if I'm being honest then yes, my heart does drop when I hear his knock.
Joel- he's the knocker. Most children wake up and shout or cry out for a cuddle, but not our Joel he runs to the door and pounds to be released.
I LOVE my little boy. He is full of energy and life and so much fun! BUT I am not. I am tired and lazy and all I want to do is sleep. First thing in the morning do you want to play horse or jump on the bed? NO!! Why does Joel?
... then he goes and gives me the best cuddle you could ever imagine, gives me a kiss and says "love you." It makes all (ok most) of those early wake ups worth it!!
