Music...

I love music! Not in the way musicians love music. It's not about the skill of the band, or how it all comes together. I think what I love most is when a person's heart is exposed or at least when you listen to the music you somehow trust and connect with the singer. In a way you understand where they are coming from and really care about what they are saying.

So that sounds a bit deep for me... My favorite song is "It's a great day to be alive" by Travis Tritt.  As you can see I don't have good taste!

Anyway, I have just found this song and I love it! I love what it says and how it connects with me.

Made To Worship- Chris Tomlin

Before the day
Before the light
Before the world revolved around the sun
God on high
Stepped down into time
And wrote the story of His love for everyone

He has filled our hearts with wonder
So that we always remember

You and I were made to worship
You and I are called to love
You and I are forgiven and free
When you and I embrace surrender
When you and I choose to believe
Then you and I will see who we were meant to be

All we are
And all we have
Is all a gift from God that we receive
Brought to life
We open up our eyes
To see the majesty and glory of the King

He has filled our hearts with wonder
So that we always remember

Even the rocks cry out
Even the heavens shout
At the sound of His Holy name
So let every voice sing out
Let every knee bow down
He is worthy of all our praise

burgers...

As most of you know, I LOVE McDonalds.  I don't really know why. I think it goes back to childhood and the "Happy Meal". What can I say they made me happy so now when I have a bad day I like a bit of McDonalds to cheer me up.

Anyway, in my love for McDonalds I have turned against their rivals ie. Burger King.  Phil often offers me Burger King thinking a burger is a burger, but I always shoot him down making it clear that McDonalds is the only way!

However, this weekend I let my barrier down and tried Burger King for really the first time and I have to say it was pretty good. They even have onion rings!

So, I'm sorry.

- I have not changed my mind about Pepsi.  Coke is still better!

Getting things done

Phil kindly bought me the book "Getting things done" and made it clear that it was more than a hint! I was really organized when I was a student and working, but now that I stay home I have sort of lost the plot a little.

Anyway, after a few weeks of putting it off I decided to read it. I mean really read it, even rereading the bits I had already read and taking detailed notes.  Now I am really excited. It's sad I know, but the thought of being highly productive in all or even most areas of my life sounds wonderful at the moment.   Its just my kind of book as well. Its all about action points!

I think I am just enjoying a project with a final product. I guess that's one of the hard parts about staying home you don't get that since of accomplishment when you've cooked dinner or put away all the toys!

So I decided to blog about it as a way of making sure that I finish. Now I have told people that I am on my way to organizational bliss I now have to do it!

I am also using this as a slight means of procrastination. Sorry Phil...

Valentine treats!!

Its 10.30 in the morning and I'm sitting with the family eating conversation hearts. Phil finds them absolutely disgusting, but I can't imagine  a Valentines day with out the sweet little things.  They don't sell them over here but my mom kindly sends me a package every year.  Thinking about it mom's very good at sending packages every holiday and they always have the candy or "sweets" of the season!  I don't know why but Easter isn't the same with out a big bag of Peeps. I don't know when when seasons became defined by the food/ sweets served at them, but I have a feeling that at some point we should  move past that. I have to confess... I haven't... I can't!!

So now I have to decide... do I share with Joel?  Yes, he probably would like them (currently I try and eat them when he's not looking!), but am I helping him out in the long run? Who is going to send him a bag of candy corn in 25 years?

Dummy mummies: Are mothers intrinsically boring?

All of my posts won't be about being a mum but I have to admit that when I saw this article it exposed one of my deepest fears. Family and friends please don't let this happen to me!!

I'm Bloggin'!!!

I've always wanted a blog. I'm not really sure why. I guess I love the idea of my thoughts being expressed.  I know its sad, but I often daydream about what I would write in my blog, but I never get around to doing it.  I guess I've always struggled with the whole identity of what my blog would be like. Will it be a way of showing sweet family moments, sharing deep meaningful thoughts, or just rambling on like I'm doing now.  So I've decided it can be all of the above and more!
